Overview
Motivation for Outreach
This personal project is meant to demonstrate my aptitude for:
Self-learning complex physics and computer science concepts
Organizing and collaborating with my mentor
Performing educational outreach as a guest speaker
I’d like to begin by giving a shout out to Dr. Harry Fried, my high school physics teacher who encouraged me to study physics as an undergrad and who gave me this outreach opportunity.
As an underclassman, meeting other students who shared my interests and struggles in physics helped me when I felt discouraged. That’s why outreach is a service I’m extremely passionate about. I always feel encouraged when my role models share their passion, proving that physics is a fulfilling long-term pursuit. My high school physics teachers were especially great inspirations to me in this way. To do my part in outreach, I continue to collaborate with Dr. Harry Fried from my alma mater, Detroit Country Day School, to develop physics mini-courses. I hope to share exciting advancements in modern physics with high schoolers.
I found this experience extremely rewarding, so I plan to conduct more outreach in the future. I’m currently committed to assisting Dr. Harry Fried in developing his quantum computing course for high schoolers.
